  • A pinch of salt

  • In a saucepan, combine the oats, milk, and cinnamon stick (if using).
  • Place the saucepan over medium heat and stir in the sugar, vanilla extract, and a pinch of salt.
  • Cook, stirring frequently, for about 10 minutes or until the oatmeal reaches your desired consistency. If it becomes too thick, you can add more milk.
  • Remove the cinnamon stick if used.
