8 oz pasta (spaghetti, linguine, or your choice)

2 cups fresh basil leaves, packed

1/2 cup pine nuts

1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese

3 cloves garlic, minced

1/2 cup extra-virgin olive oil

Salt and pepper to taste

Optional: 1/2 cup grated Pecorino Romano cheese

Optional: Cherry tomatoes and fresh basil leaves for garnish




Preparation Time: 15 minutes Cooking Time: 10 minutes


Cook Pasta

Cook the pasta according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.

Prepare Pesto Sauce

In a food processor, combine fresh basil, pine nuts, Parmesan cheese, minced garlic, and a pinch of salt. Pulse until coarsely chopped.

Stream in Olive Oil

With the food processor running, slowly stream in the olive oil until the pesto reaches a smooth consistency.

Combine Pasta and Pesto

In a large bowl, toss the cooked pasta with the prepared pesto sauce until evenly coated.


Optionally, garnish with grated Pecorino Romano cheese, cherry tomatoes, and fresh basil leaves. Serve immediately.
