Sicilian Sausage Rolls, known locally as Tomasini, showcase the rich culinary heritage of Sicily. For the Filling:
1 pound Italian sausage, casing removed
1/2 cup breadcrumbs
1/4 cup grated Pecorino Romano cheese
2 cloves garlic, minced
1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped
Salt and pepper to taste
For the Dough:
2 sheets puff pastry, thawed
1 egg (for egg wash)
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
In a bowl, combine the Italian sausage, breadcrumbs, Pecorino Romano cheese, minced garlic, chopped parsley, salt, and pepper. Mix until well combined.
Roll Out Puff Pastry
Roll out each sheet of puff pastry on a floured surface to create a rectangular shape.
